This is a different type of blog post than I usually do but I want to welcome you into the world of my newest obsession: PLANNING! Today I am bringing to you a new planner that is one of the new hot items in the planner world... well, its not new, they have been around for a while now (est. 2013???). Anyhow, this is my first purchase EVER from this company & just from my unboxing I am very pleased.
CAUTION: This post is very picture laden.
Be sure to check the corresponding YouTube video at the end of this post.
I purchased my first Erin Condren on April 12, 2015 & it arrived at my house on April 21st... 9 days total - including the weekend which, if you ask me, isnt that bad at all! When I placed my order, the site said that my planner wouldnt even ship until April 20-21 & I actually got a shipping notification on April 15! Now when I first got the shipping notification, I gave it a 2 day window for FedEx to update & by the 19th, I still wasnt getting any tracking information. I emailed EC & got a response with an apology within 24 hours - pretty amazing since I emailed on a weekend! It had just seemed that either they didnt link my tracking number to my email or FedEx was dumb & didnt update it.
The planner I ordered is the Fleur Feliz in watercolor, the blue-green edition. I do believe that this design also came in purple & pink. Even though I like pink, that design seemed to be a little more purple than pink. Almost all of Erin Condrens cover designs can be customized so I decided to put NAVY WIFE LIFE VLOGS as my first line (in all caps) & on the second line I put my tag line of Life, Love, Liberty, & the Pursuit of a Clean House. EC gives you the option of having them print it the way you type it (so it WILL be cAsE sEnSiTiVe) or having them print it with Every Word Capitalized. I decided to have them print it my way so that my title was in all caps & my tag line had capitalization where it belonged.
The planner I purchased is normally $50, but I had a $25 gift certificate I won approximately a year ago & EC has the yearly 2015 planners on sale for 40% off making them $30 (as of the date on this post they are still $30). Couple that with my $25 gift certificate & I paid a whopping $5!! ($16 if you include shipping) Im not too worried about having the planner start from January 2015 - December 2015 since Im not entirely sure that I will love this planner or not when I actually get to using it. Normally, EC gives you the option of a 12 month or a 18 month calender but since they are in the middle of creating their 2016 models, they only give you the 12 month option from the start of the year - generally when you order they give you the month that you ordered in as your first month. Again, I am okay with this because a: I only paid $5 & b: I want to make sure I actually like the use of this calender.
The planner has a thick, laminated interchangeable cover with a matching back (you can purchase new covers on either ErinCondren.com or on my website). The planner is bound by a thick silver coil (if you get their foil edition, depending on if you choose platinum or gold the binding will either be silver or gold). Each month is also color coded with tabs for easy access to each month.
Each month is color coded & divided into a monthly section followed by each week starting on Monday & ending on Sunday. Each day of the week is divided into 3 sections: Morning, Day, & Night. I have seen a lot of planner videos where people will cover those sections with washi tape or pre-printed stickers to fit whatever sections they want them to be called. I plan on having a Vlog, Etsy, & Blog section because I plan on using my EC as a work/social media type of planner. But we will see how I actually work this out.
In the back of the planner, EC has provided a thick, double-sided "Keep it Together" folder which included ECs Perpetual Calender book. Inside the book are month on one page calender lists that you will be able to log when someones birthday is to remember for years to come. It also includes standard holidays throughout each month listed at the back. I love that this isnt attached to the planner because I plan on keeping this with my DayTimer Malibu since that is my main planner & this planner is going to be work related stuff only. After the folder, there is a thick, zip-lock type pouch that they included various gift labels & what I assume are 2 thick, silver, spiral paperclips
So that is my new EC Life Planner. Overall I am very pleased with this planner just from the unboxing of it. I am borderline obsessed with all things planner so I am always trying out new things! If you are wanting to try EC, I really recommend trying it right now while theyre on sale that way you are not spending $50 on a planner you may not even like. Also! Use the following code/link to register & order from to receive a $10 off coupon that you can use with the purchase of the $30 planner to make them only $20!
EC also has teacher planners & other lifestyle type goodies. Be sure to check them out if you havent all ready. I promise you will not be disappointed.
