Revlon Lip Butters 2013 & Update.

I have some exciting news - well, hopefully it's exciting to you. I am going to try & blog at least twice a week & have a new YouTube video 3 times a week. Aren't you excited?! I know I am! I am hoping to get more dedicated & bring you the most awesome of awesome EVER. Yep. I just went there. & now I'm going here... ↓↓↓↓↓↓

It's that time of year where all the new goodies come out! I'm so excited! Living in Oklahoma, I tend to feel that our state is the last to get all the cool new stuff. Needless to say, I was pleased to find the new Revlon 2013 Spring? Summer? Spring? {heck, I can't remember!} Lip Butters! The new collection contains 4 lip butters; a watermelon red, a vibrant pink, a coral, & nudey-pink. Lets get onto the swatches & thoughts, shall we?

LEFT TO RIGHT: "Wild Watermelon", "Sorbet", "Juicy Papaya", & "Pink Lemonade"

The new Lip Butters have the same formulation as the full line. The pigmentation is amazing & the feeling is great as well. Let's see some swatches, yes?

"Wild Watermelon"
"Wild Watermelon" on lips
"Wild Watermelon" is a gorgeous, well, watermelon red. It's pigmentation is buildable but even the first swipe across the lips gives a generous pay off of color. I'm not sure if my sniffer is broken but the lip butter doesn't have any sort of scent to it.. I was hoping it smelled like watermelon - you know, because it's name is watermelon? Although, I don't think any of the Lip Butters have a "scent" to them. Hmm...

"Sorbet"
"Sorbet" on lips
"Sorbet" - despite the picture - is a gorgeous, deep pink. Pigmentation, like any Lip Butter, is superb. I wore this one to work today & noticed that it did have a tad bit of a staining power... sort of. It seemed to have migrated into the lines on my lips despite exfoliating. "Sorbet" looked gorgeous paired up with a neutral eye & bright pink blush to tie it all in.

"Juicy Papaya"

I was really excited when I saw this color. I was hoping it would be a gorgeous corally color with amazing payoff like the rest the Butters. Now, don't get me wrong, the color is very pretty - at least when I swatched it on my hand - but I did not get the coral finish I wanted on my lips... then again, I did this swatch after the "Sorbet" that stained a little even after I used an exfoliating wipe to get it off. Still a gorgeous Spring or Summer color, just not the color I was hoping for.

"Pink Lemonade"

Nevermind the tube picture that makes it look orange; I couldn't find the memory chip to my DSLR so I had to use my iPhone & apparently my lighting was horrible. :/  "Pink Lemonade" is actually a super pale nude pink & it seemed to have only added a shine to my lips with no real color pay off. I can see this being the perfect every day color for someone who wants that gloss finish but no color payoff.

If you can forgive the poor photography, these Butters are actually really great! The pigmentation is amazing, the feel is amazing... these definitely do NOT disappoint. Make sure you grab these while you can because they are limited edition!

L'Oreal Spring 2013 Color Riche Balms

So as with any new thing that comes out in the makeup community, us beauty bloggers just HAVE to get our grubby little paws on it. I actually bought these when I bought my L'Oreal Spring 2013 nail polishes {blog post found here} but I kept forgetting to swatch these & post them. So, here yah go! Just be warned, this is heavily picture laden.

There are 6 colors total: a light pink, a coral, a magenta, a purpley shade, a blue, & a butterscoth yellowy shade. I swatched the blue & yellow in the store & was NOT pleased. The blue was a light blue tint that I could only imagine it making one look like they had frost bite. Yeah, not a smart color choice L'Oreal. What's with makeup companies coming out with a LIGHT blue lip product this spring? It's HIDEOUS! The yellow color didn't have ANY pigmentation to it at all. In fact, it was just like applying a clear balm. SOOOOO not worth it.

FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: "Provence Romance", "Legally Regal", "Come By My Window", & "Laze in the Maze"

This first color is "Provence Romance". In the tube it is a purple based pink but more on the magenta side. I was actually hoping this would be a gorgeous balm but it didn't do anything to my lips except make them glossy.

The second color I grabbed was "Legally Regal". I'm not really too thrilled with the color which is another purpley pink but more on the purple side this time. This one actually had quite a bit of pigmentation on it.

The third color I picked up is called "Come By My Window"; a light baby pink - PERFECT for every day! This one as well had quite a bit or pigmentation on it.

The final color I grabbed was the one I was most excited for - "Laze in the Maze"; a gorgeous coral color! I don't know what it is lately but I've been ITCHING for tons of coral lippies. The pigmentation on this one is sheer but can get a good solid coat with some work.

Overall, I don't know why I keep buying the Color Riche balms when I'm never satisfied with them. They feel greasy on my lips & the pigmentation is hit or miss depending on the color you get. I was hoping they were like the Revlon lip butters but they pale in comparison. I think this may be my last time getting these.

L'Oreal Spring 2013 Polish Swatches

Hi loverlies!
It has been quite a while since I blogged; hopefully I can set up a blogging/recording schedule & get everything back on track. Anywhooo! This post is on the NEW L'Oreal Spring 2013 polishes. I've had these babies {along with matching balms} for about a month & I'm just now getting around the swatching them. Just a FOREWARNING: HEAVILY PICTURE LADEN.

There are 6 of these babies! From Left to Right: Creme Puffs, Royally Yours, Pistachio Dream, Lacey Lilac, The Palace Life, & Macaroon Me Really. The names don't really even have anything to do with Spring, nor do they make a lick of sense {at least to me} but that is neither here or there.

Creme Puff: 4 Coats. No undies or top coat.

Royally Yours: 2 Coats. No undies or top coat.

Pistachio Dream: 3 Coats. No undies or top coat.

Lacey Lilac: 2 Coats. No undies or top coat.

The Palace Life: 2 Coats. No undies or top coat.

Macaroon Me Really: 2 Coats. No undies or top coat.

So the application is a bit... meh. Spotty at best. I always do thin-medium coats no matter what type of nail polish I use. "Creme Puff" by far was the hardest to work with. Even after 4 coats it was still streaky & it was very sheer even after 2 coats. Definitely not my favorite of the bunch - but then again, I'm starting to realize the butter yellow polishes don't look so good on me.

If you look closely at "Macaroon Me Really" you can still see a bit of streaks... & that was 2 thin coats. It probably could've used another coat for a nice even finish but after taking on & off polish 5 times, I got fed up by the time I did this color.

The formula seems a bit runny in the "Lacey Lilac" but it still did a nice even coating as opposed to the other 5 that had a slightly {& when I say slightly, I meant slightly} thicker formulation.

I found these babies at Target for about $5.50ish each but I'm sure you can find them at your local drugstore as well; I'm not sure if Walmart has these. I haven't looked since I found these at Target - like I said, a month ago.

Do you have these colors? What do you think of them? Would you purchase them if you found them? Hope this review & swatches were helpful.

New Years Eve Nails

HAPPY 2013! I know I'm a week late on posting this but I thought it's better late than never! ♥  I did Essie's "Smokin' Hot" with Sinful Colors "All About Me" on the tips. I wish I had a silver glitter polish to have done the tips.. I think that would've looked a lot better. What do you think?

With Flash.

Without Flash -- You can kind of see the way the glitter reacted here.

"All About Me" actually looked really reflective in different lighting which was pretty cool. ♥ What did you have on your nails when you rang in the New Year?
