So I have decided to try out Garnier Clean+ Nourishing Cleansing Oil as part of my nightly routine. If I remember correctly I THINKS I originally heard about oil cleansers from Ingrid (YT @ missglamorazzi) but I could be wrong (I'm writing this post with only 4 hours of sleep & I've been shopping with K from "Scattered Us" - by the by: look for a VLOG on our adventure in whole foods coming soon!).
Look how cute this little bottle is!
I picked this up at Walgreens for about $5-$6. The bottle says it's for dry skin & I have semi normal skin with slightly oily nose region but so far this hasn't caused an oil slick on my face. It also claims to help "dissolve impurities & remove makeup" & to "replenish skin". The added jojoba & macadamia oils make me smile (as a handmade soap maker, seeing all natural ingredients makes me happy).
On this particular day, I didn't have TOP much makeup on - bb cream, eyeliner, mascara, & blush - but my main concern was how this product dealt with removing eye makeup because I always seem to have problems getting it all removed. It's just something I haven't mastered yet, I guess. Lesigh.
So the instructions say to take two pumps of the oil & rub it aaaaaallll over (make sure your face is DRY. This is important) I didn't do 2, I did 3 - I'm such a rebel. *rockon!!* - because 2 pumps didn't give me enough product to make sure I thoroughly coated my peepers. After you get everything all good & rubbed in - be sure to pay extra attention to your eye area if wearing water proof mascara or multiple coats of mascara like I was. It required some serious circular motions to make me look like I just got punched in the face.
After washing off the oil I decided to take a makeup remover wipe & wipe my whole face to see just how good of a job this did.
Not too shabby. That little but of black smudginess came from my lower lash line where I either didn't touch with oil or didn't clean well enough. In either case, not too bad at all.
Final thoughts: for the price, the product works amazingly well & does as it describes. Like I said, I did have to work my lashes a bit to get the mascara to break loose but it wasn't too horrible. Have any of you loverlies tried this product or any of the new Garnier Clean+ products? I have my eye of the activated charcoal & sugar face scrub.
