Aamco: Never Again

Since Aamco won't allow anyone to post directly on their page, I figure this is fitting to post here for all my lovely followers:

On May 18, my husband dropped his truck off at a local Aamco in Oklahoma to get his transmission looked at (it would hard shift from first to 2nd & then slip at 3rd & 4th) . We were told by the manager, Robert, that it would take approximately 3-5 days to fix his transmission. Here we are 2-3 weeks later & my husbands truck is STILL not fixed. They knew from the get go that my husband is military & on orders to leave Oklahoma A WEEK AGO. Every day we call asking for an update on the truck & it's always "well call you back" & never get a phone call returned. Or we would call & get a "your truck will be ready tomorrow" answer & when we call to ask what time should we get the truck, they would tell us it wasn't ready.

On June 1st, at 130pm, my husband got a hold of Robert who confirmed with my husband his truck would be ready BY 5PM for pickup because the mechanic was test driving it RIGHT THEN. We got there at 430 & the mechanic told both my father & husband he NEVER took the truck for a test drive. The manager refused to give us the number for corporate or the GM & didn't give us any appropriate answers until we mentioned we were contacting the legal department on base.

They also refused to let my husband take the truck for a test drive nor would they release the truck to us.

On June 3rd, the GM got a hold of my husband (who said he spoke to Robert) & now all of a sudden my husbands engine has blown, his turbo is leaking, & his injector is shot - things that a: weren't wrong when we dropped it off & b: weren't wrong yesterday when we were dealing with the manager yesterday!

They are also charging us DOUBLE what the Chevy dealership would charge! Now, we understand that everything has a mark up by approximately 200-300% but if the Chevy dealership was charging $700 for parts AND labor... Aamco shouldnt be charging OVER $1000 for parts alone - but I digress on the money situation because, honestly, that is neither here nor there.

After causing a huge riot about getting the truck back so my husband wouldnt be considered AWOL, the GM told my husband (& I quote): to avoid further delayment with you getting to California, we will give you your truck free of charge.

Ummm.. GIVE us the truck? You are acting like you are gifting us with something from the Gods. You BROKE our truck & have now inconvenienced us tremendously! Oh, & did I mention you BROKE our truck?! We have made it to our respective locations (husband to California & myself to New Jersey) but this had been the most horrendous customer service we have ever received & my husbands truck is pretty much abandoned in Oklahoma.
